wanting to stay at a place that isn't your run of the mill hotel... would prefer on-site restaurant but not neccesary.

Definitely go to Trip Advisor. As far as these three hotels, there's really no choice; I know all three. Hotel Preston is out by the Airport. Looks like a cheap imitation of a boutique hotel. Indigo is a Holiday Inn product. Not bad, but not well run. Hutton is terrific. New, really beautiful. Reasonably priced. Great location. It's restaurant, 1808 Grille, is really good and reasonable. I always use TripAdvisor.com when I need a hotel in an unfamiliar city. It has lists of hotels, along with comments from past guests.
