i'm going to nashville for the first time this july. what are some places that i should go see, or restaurants i should eat at?
ps...i'm going for national FBLA conference, so bars and stuff are out of the question...What are some must see's in nashville, tn?
well, I don't know what FBLA is, but you don't need to go to bars to enjoy Nashville! If you enjoy history, check out some of the beautiful plantation homes and mansions like Belle Meade, Belmont, Carnton, Carter House and Travellers Rest. If you love art/museums/gardens check out Cheekwood Home of Gardens and Art, The Frist Museum, The Parthenon in Centennial Park and the bunch of local museums and art galleries downtown. If you like country music, go to the Country Music Hall of Fame, tour the historic Ryman Auditorium and maybe take in a Grand Ole Opry show. There is also a fun water park, Nashville Shores, 2 lakes and lots of wonderful parks for hiking. Have fun in Nashville- It's an awesome and friendly city!
Prairie Girl- the only MAJOR attraction that isn't open is the Opry Mills Mall and Opryland Hotel. We've recovered remarkably.... We ARE Nashville!!!!
Check out www.visitmusiccity.com for all the ins and outs of Nashville. The only things still closed from the floods are Opry Mills mall, Gaylord Opryland Resort, Grand Old Opry House, and Schermerhorn Symphony Center.
Some great things to see are the Ryman Auditorium, Country Music Hall of Fame, walking along Broadway past all the music stores and honky tonks, maybe take a tour past the homes of the stars, and the Nash Trash tour for the entertainment value.
There are two great exhibits at the Frist Center right now. One is glass installations by Dale Chihuly. The other is fashions from the couture period of the 1950s. I'm looking forward to seeing these. Check out the website at www.fristcenter.org for details.
Long-established local restaurants are Sweat's, Monell's, Rotiers, and Demos'. Anywhere you go, fried chicken is the prime food group around here. Hope you have a great trip. What are some must see's in nashville, tn?
we was hit by the flood s things haven't opened completely. But you can go to the frist center (a art gallery )which is located downtown, go to the nashville zoo which has a lot of interesting animal that you can see, see if the grand ole opry is playing a concert (which they always do)
Nashville is still recovering from the flood, so a lot of things haven't reopened. It's hard to say what will and will not be open in July.
