Nashville tennessee question!?

is the setting of nashville really country like?

do people really all get together at restaurants and square dance and stuff? and where cow boy boots and hats?

my family and i are planning a vacation there for the summer and i absolutely love the country with the horses and everything about the country setting .. so is nashville really country-like?Nashville tennessee question!?
The city is very modern. Not everyone wears cowboy boots and hats. There is plenty of country music to be heard everywhere. If you venture a little further out of Nashville, you'll get a "true" country experience. The people are very friendly in Tennessee. The countryside is beautiful with all the mountains. You'll find more people in the country with the cowboy boots and hats.
.....Nashville is not "rural" country. It is a large metro area with skyscrapers and buildings.

There are some good shows in the city and out in "music valley" but as for the scenario that you have described I don't think you'll find that.

As for horses , well you'll just have to locate a stable on the outter areas of the city.Nashville tennessee question!?
i just got back from nashville, and what an amazing city it is!!!!!

yes, you do get your country thing, but you can get so much more, anything you want to get!

if you are looking for a country-like experience, you might have to get out of the city, into the suburbs i guess... It is a big city, thats what you'll find

I just wrote a travel article about our weekend in Nashville. It gives some tips on places to see in Nashville if you want to check it out.

I've lived in Nashville all my life, and I get more of a country feel in places like Austin than here in Nashville. Cowboy boots and hats just aren't very much in view except at certain places. By getting away from the city, you can find horses and beautiful rural scenes. If possible, visit us in June before the super-humid and hot weather hits in July/August. There are less expensive hotels out in the burbs if you don't mind driving 20 minutes into the city, but try and avoid rush hour traffic. Along with the country music stuff, there are great parks, art and science museums, as well as historical sites.
