My family wants to make a two day trip to Nashville. What are the best things to do and the best places to see?

I basically need help making an itinerary. It has to be simple because my father is a relatively disagreeable person. I would also like suggestions for good eating places, preferably in the same range as restaurants such as Olive Garden. My family wants to make a two day trip to Nashville. What are the best things to do and the best places to see?
Two days isn't nearly long enough, but here goes.....

If your dad is up to a 2 mile walk, the one around downtown is great because you get to see a lot and learn a lot about Nashville. It starts at Fort Nashboro on 1st Avenue right next to Cumberland River, across the river from LP Field where the Titans play. Follow the line painted on the sidewalk to take you past famous 2nd Ave., the Ryman Auditorium, the State Capitol, Printers Alley, and lots of cool architecture. Also downtown is the Country Music Hall of Fame and the Musicians Hall of Fame and loads of shops to browse through and all the honky tanks with live music all day and half the night! Great BBQ at Jack's on Lower Broadway- you'll pass it on the walking tour.

Nearby is the Frist Museum if you're so inclined. a little further up is Centennial Park with the nly full scale replica of the Parthenon in the world, complete with 40' tall Athena- it's a museum nnow, but was built orginally for Nashville's centennial celebration. Still further up along the same street (it starts as Broadway at the river, changes to West End at the "Y", and eventually becomes Harding at the intersection of White Bridge Rd!) is Belle Meade, one of the richest communities in the country and home to Belle Meade Plantation which is very cool to tour. A ways behind Belle Meade Mansion is Cheekwood, Nashville's Home of Gardens and Art. It was owned by the family who invented the Maxwell House coffee formula. Now the grounds are open to the public (for a fee) and it's absolutley beautiful. There is a small restaurant on the property which is kind of expensive, but very good. If you want to take a little ride to Franklin, a few miles south of Nashville, you can browse the cery cool downtown area and go tour Carnton Plantation, which was used as a civil war battlefield hospital during one of the worst battles of the civil war. The bloodstains is still on the floors from all the operations they performed by the light of the sun coming in the windows! On the other side of Nashville is the Hermitage, Andrew Jackson's home and also a great tour.

We have every chain restaurant imaginable here- Olive Garden, Logan's, O'Charley's, Cheddar's, Chili's, and the hometown fave.... Cracker Barrel!!!! If you need more info or want directions to any restaurants just email me and I'll try to help. Nashville is a great little city- you'll have a blast!
