Driving from Washington DC to Nashville. Things we MUST see/do on the way?

Me and my buddies are driving from Washington, DC to Nashville TN this weekend and we are looking for things to do on the way there. For example, The worlds largest ____, eating competitions, must see attractions, must eat at restaurants etc. things of this sort.



If you have any suggestions, I would really really appreciate it. The more extreme and creative the better. And also, please do not suggest things IN Nashville, only things on the way there.



En route, we will be on I-81 S and I-40W for most of the way there.

You can drive through Knoxville,TN which is on the way.

Im sure theres plenty of stuff to do there.
