My inlaws 50th anniversary is coming up this December. We are having a celebration for them. But we are wanting to have just the family go out the night prior to eat. There will be a group of about 24. I am wanting something nice , decent priced. Either Memphis or Nashville area will be fine. We will be about the same distance from either. Thank you for any help.Does anyone know of a nice restaurant in either Memphis or Nashville, TN that you would highly recommend?
For a great dining experience in Nashville try the Gaylord Opryland Hotel Resort:

Plenty to see at the hotel as well. Bring your walking shoes, the hotel is way bigger than it looks like from the outside.
[Note: There is a $10 parking fee, but if you have dinner at a restraint inside, make sure that you ask the waiter or waitress to validate your parking. You wont have to pay the $10 on the way out.]
Afterwards, you can either go next door to the Opry Mills Mall -

or catch a show at the Grand Ole Opry.

A great night for all.
The Peabody in Memphis. you can even watch the ducks waddle out the elevator.Does anyone know of a nice restaurant in either Memphis or Nashville, TN that you would highly recommend?
In Nashville, Darfon's is pretty nice and reasonably priced. They have a banquet room that would be ideal for a group of 24. We had my Dad's 60th birthday party there. It's on Elm Hill Pike in the Donelson area. Demos' is also a nice place. They don't have a banquet type room though and they don't accept reservations, but the food is awesome and they are very reasonably priced. It's downtown. The Old Spaghetti Factory is nice, but may not be good for a party of 24 and I don't know about reservations.
I have family that live around that area and they offered to take out my husband and i to a restaurant that is down town Nashville its in the very top of a building and it kinda rotates so you could have a nice view while you eat and hang out....I'm sorry i don't know the name of it :( but I'm sure you could go to yahoo local and look it up! Good Luck!!
Well if you are going to Memphis which have some very good restaurants you could drive 1.5 hours south down Hwy 61 to Clarksdale,MS and stop at Madidi which is owned by Actor Morgan Freeman and it a really nice place and he also owns the Ground Zero Blues Club which has great food also and music .So here is a web site for you to check out if you like www.madidires.com/.
Family thing...fair priced....good food...good variety..CRACKER BARRELL.
