I've found that travel agencies have great deals. Of course you should do some online homework too, but it never hurts to go to a travel agent. We went to the Caribbean this past March and I saved $800 on the hotel room with a special rate that only the TA had (all of the online travel sites and the hotel's site showed the same rate).
Istanbul (Turkey) is much cheaper than many countries if you think.Where are some good places to find cheap vacation packages?
The cheapest vacation is the one organized by you, and not bought from a travel agency. Book your flight in advance, find on Google accommodation websites for your destination and start sending emails. Choose your hotel / villa / pension and make a reservation.
