Greatest restaurants in Nashville?

I live in Nashville, and my family and I like to go out to eat A LOT. We always like to try different and unusual places, but we appreciate holes in the wall and down home cooking just as much. I'm quite sure there are a lot of restaurants around town that I don't know about, so I'm going to ask if anyone else out there can give me a list of their favorite places to eat. I'll list what I'm looking for:

Fine Dining

Good Chains

Cheap Joints

Best Mexican Restaurants?

Best Italian?

Cajun?

BBQ?

Southern?

Pizza?

Diners?

Breakfast?

Middle Eastern?

Mediterranean?

French?

German?

Russian?

Japanese?

Chinese?

Thai?

Indian?

South American?

Northeastern?

African?

Seafood?

Or any other different types I may have forgotten. You can give more than one answer for every category, by the way!

Thanks a lot!

Also, if you would let me know where every restaurant is located, that would be great, too!

I'm most familiar with the Downtown and west side of Nashville, but here goes:

Mexican- *Rosepepper Cantina (1907 Eastland)

*La Paz (3808 Cleghorn Ave, Green Hills)

German- *Gerst Haus (301 Woodland)

Cajun- *Chappy's on Church (1721 Church St.)

*Bro's Cajun Cuisine(3214 Charlotte)

Burgers- *Sam's Sports Bar ( 21st Ave in the Village) awesome pizza

as well.

*Rotier's (2413 Elliston Pl.) On Jimmy Buffet's list of Top

Ten Cheesburgers in Paradise. Total Dive- LOVE IT!

Italian- *Amerigo's or Maggiano's (both on West End)

*Mafiaozo's (2400 12th Ave) YUM! I've considered getting a job

here just so I can see the recipe for their pizza crust. Buy one

get one free on Tuesdays, but get there early.

Japanese- *Ichiban on Broadway across from Hard Rock Cafe

We've only ordered the sushi

*Ginza in Green Hills Only ordered the sushi

*Goten (1719 West End Ave.) Very good habachi

* Lemongrass Sushi and Thai (Corner of Hwys 70 and 100

in Bellevue)

I didn't care for Rusan's and Virago, but they are popular.

Mediterranean- *Athen's Family Restaurant (2526 Franklin Pike) Also

have good breakfasts

*Fattoush (1716 Charlotte)

Thai- *Golden Thai (73 White Bridge Rd.)

*Siam Cuisine (265 White Bridge Pike)

Misc.- Sportsman's Grill (5405 Harding Pl. in Belle Meade or 1601

21st Ave. S in the Village)

*Bosco's (1805 21st Ave. S)

*Blackstone (1918 West End)

*Broadway Brewhouse (3 locations: 1900 Broadway,

317 Broadway and 7108 Charlotte)

*Corner Pub in the Woods (4111 Hillsboro Cir, Green Hills and

Hwy 100 in Bellevue) I've only been to the Bellevue location-

one of the best burgers I've had in Nashville and service has

always been good for us. Never had the same thing twice and

loved it all.

*Calypso Cafe (5 locations go to www.calypsocafe.com)

I get the Lucayan Salad ($7.50) which is enough for 2 big

meals. They labeled their menu items that are vegan or low-fat

Cheap Eats- *Hot Diggity Dogs (614 Ewing)

* Fat Mo's (2620 Franklin Pike and corner of Charlotte

and White Bridge Rd.) Drive thru only, great food.

Las Paletas at 12th and Kirkwood is a must in Nashville.

I'll check back to see what others suggest. Usually the holes in the wall have the best food and those are the places I'd like to get leads on.
